Dance Team State Championship

The 5th Annual Connecticut High School Dance Team State Championships took place on Saturday, March 5th.
There were a total of 32 teams that arrived to show their teams’ talent.
Greenwich High School started the competition off with their small hip hop performance followed by RHAM High School in Pom.
As the night went on, countless teams took the floor doing double turns, fouettes, leaps, facials, kicks, and more.
The judges judged for Hip Hop, Jazz, Pom and Kick line.
The competition ended with Hofstra University’s Dance Team hip hop performance.
Next was the award ceremony. Teams gathered around in circles and held their teammates hands. Hearts were beating fast when the announcer announced which team had won.

Small Hip Hop:
1st place- Branford High School
2nd place- Cromwell High School
3rd place- Bassick High School
4th place- Bacon Academy
5th place- Middletown High School

Large Hip Hop:
1st place- Brookfield High School
2nd place- Masuk High School
3rd place- Fairfield Warde High School
4th place- New Milford High School
Tied for 5th- RHAM High School and South Windsor High School

Small Jazz:
1st place- Branford High School
2nd place- Wethersfield High School
3rd place- Cromwell High School
Tied for 4th place- Woodland Regional High School and Greenwich High Scool

Large Jazz:
1st place- Brookfield High Schoo
2nd place- Masuk High School
3rd place- Shelton High School
4th place- Newtown High School
5th place- New Milford High School

Pom:
1st place- Hamden High School
2nd place- Wethersfield High School
3rd place- Shelton High School

Kick line:
1st place- Hamden High School
2nd place- Woodland Regional High School
3rd place- Amity Regional High School.
