In 2001, Woodland Regional High School opened with just freshmen and sophomores populating its classrooms and hallways. Those same folks will forever hold the legacy of not just being the first classes at Woodland, but also helping to lift the fledgling Hawks off the ground and onto the Naugatuck Valley League’s fields and courts.

Nearly immediately, athletes and teams worked their collective way to success, and as the Woodland athletic programs head into the next decade, the tradition these forerunners laid in the mid-2000s continues stronger than ever.

And while the Hawks move forward, it is always important to look back and never forget the greats who donned the Black and Gold while current athletes were admiring from the stands.
